Cooperage & Barrel Sourcing
This is a separate sourcing area from oak lumber, reclaimed oak, parquet, furniture, glass, and metal. Barrel requests are reviewed by barrel type, capacity, previous use, oak species, condition, age, toast or char profile where applicable, quantity, packaging, destination, and documentation requirements.
New Wine Barrels
European oak barrels for wineries and beverage producers, reviewed by capacity, toast profile, oak species, quantity, supplier capacity, and project requirements.
Used & Second-Use Barrels
Ex-wine barrels for whiskey, whisky, rum, brandy, beer, and spirits finishing programs. These barrels are often requested because previous wine contact can add character during aging or finishing. Requests are reviewed by previous contents, condition, age, leak-testing requirement, capacity, quantity, destination, and target budget.
New Whiskey & Spirits Barrels
New European oak barrels for whiskey, whisky, bourbon-style, rum, brandy, beer, and specialty spirits programs, reviewed by capacity, cooperage method, toast or char profile, quantity, target budget, and destination.
Quarter-Split Oak Staves
Stave material and cooperage components may be reviewed where available for qualified B2B buyers, cooperage programs, specialty manufacturing, or barrel-related production.
Large-Format Barrels
500L puncheons, tuns, foeders, and 1000L formats are reviewed by custom RFQ only, depending on oak selection, cooperage capacity, intended use, and buyer specification.
Pallet, Truckload & Container Orders
B2B barrel requests are reviewed by quantity, packaging, loading method, destination, documentation flow, and export/import coordination under the agreed scope.
Barrel & Cask Formats We Can Help Source
Requests may include wine barrels, whiskey casks, used wine barrels, second-use barrels, craft distillery barrels, and large-format cooperage. Formats are reviewed by capacity, previous use, condition, supplier availability, quantity, and destination.

Large-Format & Custom Cooperage

Commercial & Artisan Cooperage Supply
Our sourcing network can review both commercial-volume barrel requests and selected artisan cooperage opportunities.
Commercial Barrel Supply
Commercial requests may include new wine barrels, new whiskey and spirits barrels, used wine barrels, second-use barrels, pallet quantities, truckload programs, or container-volume orders for wineries, distilleries, breweries, importers, and distributors.
Artisan & Custom Cooperage
Artisan or custom barrel requests may be reviewed separately for buyers seeking limited-production European oak barrels, handcrafted cooperage, special formats, tasting-room pieces, premium spirits projects, or custom barrels made by selected craftsmen where available.
Quarter-Split European Oak Stave Material
Selected oak logs may be split along the natural medullary rays to produce stave material for wine barrels and casks. This traditional cooperage method supports proper stave orientation, dimensional stability, and reliable barrel construction when processed by qualified coopers.
Supplier Confirmation Required
Availability, oak species, stave dimensions, drying or seasoning method, toast or char profile, and documentation are confirmed case by case with the selected supplier before quotation approval.
New European Oak Wine, Whiskey & Spirits Barrels
New European oak barrels may be sourced for wineries, distilleries, beverage producers, and specialty aging programs. Requests are reviewed by barrel use, capacity, oak species, cooperage method, toast or char profile where applicable, quantity, destination, target budget, and supplier availability.
Wine Barrel Formats
Common wine requests include 225L / 59-gallon Bordeaux-style barriques, 228L / 60-gallon Burgundy-style barriques, and 300L / 80-gallon mid-format casks.
Whiskey Barrel Formats
Common whiskey and spirits requests include 53-gallon / approx. 200L American Standard Barrel size and smaller craft formats such as 100L / approx. 26-gallon barrels by supplier confirmation.
Toast Profile
Light, medium, medium-plus, heavy, or buyer-defined toast profiles may be reviewed where available and confirmed with the supplier.
Project-Based Supply
Requests can be reviewed for wineries, beverage producers, distributors, and production programs requiring repeatable specifications.
New European Oak Whiskey & Spirits Barrels
New whiskey and spirits barrels are a primary cooperage category, separate from used wine-barrel finishing. Requests can be reviewed for distilleries, craft producers, beverage programs, and specialty aging projects that need new European oak barrels at commercially competitive supply levels.
53-Gallon / Approx. 200L ASB
American Standard Barrel size for whiskey and bourbon-style programs where buyers request the familiar North American format.
100L / Approx. 26-Gallon Craft Barrel
Small-format barrels for craft distilleries, pilot batches, tasting-room programs, accelerated aging, and specialty spirits projects, subject to supplier confirmation.
Custom Spirits Barrels
Other whiskey, rum, brandy, beer, and spirits-aging formats can be reviewed by capacity, toast or char profile, stave specification, quantity, destination, and buyer requirements.
New Barrel RFQ
For new whiskey barrels, buyers should specify capacity, intended spirit, toast or char preference where applicable, quantity, destination, target price or budget, and whether the request is for a trial order or repeat supply program.
Used Wine Barrels for Whiskey & Spirits Finishing
Used European wine barrels are not simply second-hand packaging. For distilleries and specialty beverage producers, ex-wine barrels can be a valuable aging and finishing tool because the previous wine contact may influence aroma, color, texture, and complexity during whiskey, whisky, rum, brandy, beer, or spirits finishing programs.
Finishing & Reuse Programs
Requests for used and second-use barrels are reviewed by previous contents, barrel age, condition, capacity, liquid-tight requirement, leak-testing needs, sanitation or preservation method, quantity, destination, and intended use.
Budget-Based Used Barrel Offers
For reuse programs, buyers may submit a target budget or target price per barrel. Supplier options can then be reviewed according to budget, condition, previous use, quantity, inspection level, and import requirements.
Functional or Decorative Use
Functional barrels intended for liquid storage, refill, aging, or finishing should be inspected and confirmed before shipment. Decorative barrels for hospitality, tasting rooms, retail displays, and event spaces can be reviewed under a different condition standard.
Import Review for Used Barrels
Used barrel requests should identify previous contents, cleaning or preservation method, moisture condition, pest or contamination concerns, packaging method, and any documentation requested by the buyer’s customs broker, freight forwarder, or import team.
Large-Format Cooperage — By Request Only
Large-format barrels such as 500L puncheons, tuns, foeders, or 1000L formats are reviewed only as custom RFQ requests. These formats are typically used by wineries, craft distilleries, breweries, blending programs, and specialty aging projects.
Custom RFQ Only
Availability depends on oak selection, cooperage capacity, stave thickness, production schedule, intended use, destination, and buyer specifications. These formats should not be treated as standard stock items.
What Buyers Should Provide
To review a barrel sourcing request properly, buyers should provide the barrel type needed, new or used condition, previous use if relevant, capacity in liters or gallons, quantity, intended use, destination, required timeline, packaging requirements, and any documentation or inspection requirements.
For used barrels, specify acceptable condition, age, previous contents, whether the barrel must be liquid-tight, suitable for aging, suitable for refill, reconditioned, leak-tested, or intended for decorative use only.
For new barrels, specify whether the request is for wine, whiskey, whisky, bourbon-style, rum, brandy, beer, or specialty spirits use, plus capacity, toast or char preference where applicable, quantity, destination, target budget, timeline, packaging, and any supplier declaration or documentation requirement.
How Our Sourcing Team Supports the Process
Request Review
We review the barrel request for buyer type, intended use, barrel type, capacity, new or used condition, previous use, quantity, destination, and timeline.
Supplier Fit
We identify suitable European cooperage suppliers, barrel sources, or used-barrel supply options based on availability, condition, quantity, and buyer requirements.
Quotation Coordination
We coordinate supplier quotation requests and help clarify barrel capacity, condition, inspection requirements, packaging, loading, and documentation flow.
Inspection & Confirmation
For qualifying used-barrel requests, inspection, leak-testing, photos, refurbishment, or condition confirmation may be coordinated where available and agreed by supplier.
Packaging & Export/Import Coordination
We support communication around palletizing, truckload or container loading, packaging, documentation, and export/import coordination under the agreed project scope.
Not a Retail Barrel Store
The desk does not operate a shopping cart or retail barrel store. Barrel sourcing requests are reviewed for qualified B2B buyers, pallet quantities, truckload or container-volume opportunities, and commercially viable projects.
